Facilities Manager Appointment Delayed Again

The Bensalem Township School Board will wait until the new year to appoint a facilities manager, an official told Patch.

A facilities manager will not be appointed to the helm of the Bensalem Township School District until the new year, School Board President Heather Nicholas told Patch.

The same four candidates are in the running for the position as when the board first tabled the matter in October, Nicholas said. The position was left vacant when previous facilities manager Robert Moseley was arrested earlier this year as part of a $1.5 million theft ring. Since his arrest, Bensalem Township Councilman John Mathieu, a school district employee, who in November lost a re-election bid, has been serving in the role.

Officials said previously that Mathieu was one of facilities manager candidates being considered. On Wednesday night, following the board's meeting, Nicholas declined to share names of prospective employees and said only that four were in the running.

She also declined to say when the new board, which organized and welcomed three new members earlier this month, would choose a new facilities manager.

"Not right now," Nicholas said. "With new people coming on, there's some other things we're looking at."
