Fitzpatrick Makes Statement on Budget Vote

Congressman said the "House Republican proposal cuts $6.2 trillion over the next decade and puts us on a clear course towards a balanced budget."

On Friday, April 15, Rep. Mike Fitzpatrict made the following statement:

“Today, I joined with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to begin laying the framework to restore long-term fiscal stability to the American economy.  The House Republican proposal cuts $6.2 trillion over the next decade and puts us on a clear course towards a balanced budget.  The House Republican plan is the only plan that seriously addresses the problem of wasteful and out of control government spending.

“While virtually everyone in Washington agrees that deficits pose a substantial threat to our economic security, there is not agreement on how to fix it.  I believe that one thing is clear—the status quo is no longer acceptable.  Government must create a climate of certainty to spur economic growth and private sector job creation.
