Fitzpatrick Re-Elected to 8th District Congressional Seat

Republican Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick defeats Democratic challeger Kathy Boockvar.

U.S. Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick will continue to represent Pennsylvania’s 8th District in Congress. The Republican incumbent defeated Democratic challenger Kathy Boockvar.

CNN called the race before 11:30 p.m. With 91 percent of the votes counted, Fitzpatrick had 178,557 votes (57 percent) to Bookvar’s 135,927 votes (43 percent).

The 8th Congressional District includes Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County and Northeast Philadelphia.

Fitzpatrick is a former Bucks County commissioner who was first elected to Congress in 2004. He was defeated in 2006, and was re-elected in 2010. Boockvar, is a lawyer from Doylestown.
