Flood Watch Goes Into Effect This Afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch to go into effect at 2 p.m. today in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ issued a flood watch that will go into effect at 2 p.m. today and remain in effect until Wednesday morning in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

According to the flood watch alert, general rainfall in the watch area during the next 48 hours should average between two and four inches with isolated six inch amounts possible by noon Wednesday.

The record rains of August combined with periods of heavy rain the next couple of days will likely prompt pockets of new of renewed flooding, including basement, street, small stream and river flooding.

According to the alert, this is a potentially serious situation for some of those who experienced flooding since the river flows are still above normal and sorls nearly saturated.

The National Weather Service advises to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
