If your child doesn't have dental insurance, he or she can get free dental tooth sealants this Saturday, March 2.
Sealant Saturday is a day when non-insurance children between the age of 6 and 14 to get dental sealants to help prevent cavities. Sealants are "thin, plastic coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to 'seal' the pits and grooves on the teeth where tooth decay (cavities) occurs," according to a notice on Bensalem Township School District's website.
Parents must schedule an appointment for their child to be seen by calling the Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership Dental Program at 1-800-347-6803. Appointments will be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 at AB Dental, which is located at 320 N. Oxford Valley Rd. in Fairless Hills.
The partnership is sponsoring the event along with the Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Association, Children’s Dental Program and AB Dental.
