GOP Sweeps Bucks County Races

The county commissioners remain unchanged.

The three sitting Bucks County commissioners all claimed victory Tuesday and the county's GOP swept .

Republicans Charles Martin, a commissioner since 1995, and Robert Loughery, appointed just this year, will again be joined by Democrat Diane Ellis-Marseglia, a commissioner since 2008. Democrat Det Ansinn's bid to give the Democrats a majority on the board came up short.

"We ran a great campaign, and while unfortunately we did not get the results we wanted, we always kept out campaign issue-based, and never resorted to personal attacks," Ansinn said in a statement.

Other unofficial winners include Donald Petrille (Register of Wills), William Snyder (County Treasurer), Mary Smithson (Clerk of Courts), Joseph Campbell (Coroner).

Petrille used 21st-century technology to claim his victory, using Twitter to announce (deptrille) "Is the Register of Wills-elect of Bucks County!" just before 11 p.m.
