Last Chance: File Your Tax Returns

We're used to having our taxes into Uncle Sam by April 15, but our personal income tax returns are due by Tuesday, April 17 this year.

According to the Huffington Post, the deadline was delayed by the Internal Revenue Service this year because April 15 landed on a Sunday and Monday, April 16 is Emancipation Day, a holiday observed in the District of Columbia.

Your tax return can be delivered to the IRS by U.S. Mail after the due date and still be considered filed on time as long as it was postmarked on or before April 17.
