Local Pols to Lecture During Weekend Business Course

The Accelerated Degrees Program at will feature a weekend intensive business course called Strategic Issues 2012 that features lectures from area legislators.

According to a release, the weekend course, held January 6, 7 and 8, will focus on the presidential election of 2012 and issues such as national security, foreign affairs, the national economy, the role of state government versus federal government, social issues impacting the country, and the role of political parties.

Legislators who will lecture during the weekend session include Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (R-8th), Philadelphia City Councilman Dennis O’Brien (R-At Large), and former state legislator David J. Steil (R-31st), who served from 1993 through 2008.

Other speakers include Honorable Wallace H. Bateman, a Bucks County Common Pleas Judge, Chris Mottola, a political consultant, and John King, a police chief from Doraville, Georgia, who also serves as a colonel in the Georgia National Guard.

Registration deadline for the course is December 16. Students who register are expected to complete all assigned readings and actively participate throughout the weekend. Attendance at each session is mandatory.
