New Hotel Coming to Bensalem

A new Marriott Courtyard was approved for the Glenview Corporate Center by Bensalem Township Council Monday night.

 

There will be a new place for Bensalem visitors to stay while enjoying and other local attractions.

On Monday, Aug. 27, Bensalem Township Council approved preliminary and final land development plans for a 124-room, four-story Courtyard by Marriott hotel in the Glenview Corporate Center on Tillman Drive off Street Road.

The applicant’s engineer, Mark Mayhew, of Taylor, Wiseman and Taylor, explained that the would soon be closing and likely reopening as another motel brand.

“It will be closing within the month,” Mayhew said. “They’re losing their franchise license.”

Mayhew explained that the application was straightforward with no zoning issues or variances requested. He said the proposed location is at the back of the corporate park to the right of the Rothman Specialty Hospital. It is the second to last remaining undeveloped space in Glenview, he said.

Acting Council President Ed Kissleback described it as a “very clean plan.”

The applicant, AVA Development, had their plans previously approved by the township Planning Commission and Zoning Hearing Board.
