Seniors Convene at Health & Wellness Expo

Senior citizens enjoyed the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging's health and wellness expo June 9 at the Sportsplex in Feasterville.

The free event boasted more than 70 exhibits, one-on-one medical insurance counseling, free health screenings, immunizations, health and wellness seminars, cooking demonstrations and various fitness classes.

According to Wiiliam McTigue, adminstrative officer of public affairs for the county, this was the 29th time this event was held, but the first time at the Sportsplex. 

The whole idea is to promote health and independent living for seniors and giving them the tools for both, McTigue said.

The event is about making sure Bucks County seniors are aware of the services available to them, said Roland Mracek of Visit Bucks County, the official tourism promotion agency for Bucks County.
