Traffic Restrictions on Route 1 in Bensalem Starting Monday

Roadwork is part of regionwide highway safety project

Daytime lane closures are scheduled to start Monday (March 21) and continue through June 10 on Route 1 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.  As part of a regionwide highway safety improvement project, crews will install two northbound left turn lanes, remove a concrete median, upgrade signals and install ADA ramps at the intersection with Old Lincoln Highway.

Starting Monday through June 10, weekday lane restrictions will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays in both directions on Route 1 between North Gate Road and Old Trevose Road.  The work is weather dependent.

Later this spring, there will be nighttime lane restrictions in the same location for milling and paving in connection with the project.
