Weather Service Issues Flood Watch

One to two inches of rain expected Sunday.

The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has issued a flood watch for Bucks County and surrounding areas.

The watch is in effect from Sunday morning through late Sunday night.

According to the forecast, heavy rain could cause flooding across the area.

There could be one to two inches of rain with the heaviest rain occurring during afternoon and evening hours.

Significant rises are expected on the Delaware and Schuylkill rivers, but at this time flooding is not expected.  * although the heaviest rain is expected to end sunday evening.

Here’s the local forecast:

Tonight: A chance of rain after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind between 14 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 59. South wind between 13 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 37. South wind 7 to 10 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Northwest wind between 13 and 15 mph.
