Weather Service: Severe Thunderstorm on the Way

Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

At 3:19 p.m., the National Weather Service in Mt. Holly issued a severe thunderstorm warning for extreme southeastern bucks county.

The warning is in effect until 4:30 p.m.

This is a dangerous storm, the warning stated. If you are in its path, prepare immediately for damaging winds, destructive hail and deadly cloud to ground lightning. People outside should move to a shelter preferably inside a strong building but away from windows.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds, continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Southwest wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Thursday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Northwest wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  • Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind at 6 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
