Three simple ways to change our world

Welcome to YOU!!!  There is a giant grin on my face, just knowing that YOU are reading the words coming out of my very own noggin!!!   See that? YOU have made someone happy and I betchya~didn’t~know~it!!!

Tis February! The month of LUV!  And so, I have a proposal for you.  Umm, no ~ it isn’t a marriage proposal.  Heck, I haven’t even found prince charming yet, although, believe me ~ he is out there somewhere ~ over the rainbow ~ wayyyy up high! (Or maybe he is just over the river in New Jersey)

Sooooo, as I slap my face back to reality, let me tell you the real reason I am writing to YOU today! I wanted to ask if you would help me make the world a happier place.

Here we are. We go through the motions. Blah, blah, blah. We often forget or don’t truly believe that our actions and inactions can and do change the world.

Ahhhh but, THEY DO!!!!!

HERE ARE THREE SIMPLE THINGS U CAN DO TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

1. Be positive.

It is a scientific fact that attitudes and feelings are contagious.
Have u ever been around someone who is so miserable that you can actually FEEL the tension in the air?  Of course you have! You know what I’m talking about!

Well, that goes the other way too!

Do you know someone who lights up a room just by walking in? Well, you can BE that person, my dear!

All it takes is a positive attitude. Think positively. And, I mean sincerely positively, and your attitude will help others. All you have to do is makes changes within your own self!

2. Say hello.

Did u ever get a yen to live in a small country town where everyone knows each other and says hello when they pass on the street?
I always get that feeling when i watch Groundhog Day. Everyone is just so friendly!

Here is the scene where the whole town is celebrating and the band allows Bill Murray to cut in and play the piano.

Well, guess what???!!!
You don’t have to live in a small town to say hello to people.
I was at Cracker Barrel for lunch and when we left, we sat outside and played checkers. My date wasn’t aware but i really had a different agenda.
Instead of concentrating on checkers, i concentrated on people. As each person passed us on their way into the restaurant, i looked up and told them to enjoy their lunch.
Guess what happened?
Well, aside from the guy who was looking back at me and got hit in the head when someone opened the door to leave, everyone smiled!!!  They were surprised but genuine smiles! When we smile, we instantly brighten our mood so; i brightened the day for at least twenty five people! Yay me!

3. Stand up for injustice.

It was sometime in December and I was in Center City, Philadelphia.  I was walking to a restaurant with some friends when I looked across the street and saw something I couldn’t ignore.

A woman was parking on the street when she accidentally bumped the car in front of her.  A man in a business suit got out of the car and started yelling at the woman.  Well, I couldn’t just keep walking and letting him do this.

So, I yelled, “HEY! Leave her alone! It was a simple accident and it is holiday time.”

The man looked over at me and yelled, “Mind your business!”

I said, “No, just leave her alone. It wasn’t a big deal. Let it go.”

To which he replied, “Keep walking!”

Of course all of the other people on the street stopped and watched the scene. So, not only did I stick up for the woman but, I made dinner conversation for some of those people watching and I know that next time they see something like that, at least they will think about doing the same.

I know that some of you lovely readers are saying, “Oh my! You could have gotten shot!”

But, noooooo! I was being positive! I wasn’t thinking about being shot. Therefore, that wasn’t going to be part of the scenario.

Sooooo, there you have it! Three easy ways YOU can change the world! Smile! Be positive! Take a stand!

Until next time, take time to crunch the cookies!
