Insomnia!!!

You wake up

In the middle of the night

You peer out the window

Not a person in sight

Nothing is moving

The world has gone to  bed

You start to feel so strange

You try to clear your head

You are seemingly alone

On this vast amount of space

Alone with all the stars

You make up the human race

The night is very peaceful

And yet, it’s also eerie

You shiver from the silence

Your eyes are getting weary

But sleep evades your body

And won’t allow you in

Finally, the sun comes up

A new day will begin

The world slowly awakens

With movement and with noise

A rooster crows outside

A child plays with toys

You yawn and close your eyes

And wish you’d hit the sack

But quiet time is over

The world has just come back

You’re tired yet, relieved

The eerie night has passed

Tonight you’ll close your eyes

And hope that sleep will last!!!
