Bensalem School District Announces Two Administrative Appointments

Jason Bowman has been appointed K–12 STEM Supervisor and Susan Mowrer Benda was appointed as Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.

Bensalem Township School District Board of School Directors approved two administrative appointments during a meeting Wednesday. 

Jason Bowman has been appointed K–12 STEM Supervisor.  Also, Dr. Susan Mowrer Benda was appointed as Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.  She is replacing Maribel Camps, who is retiring on June 30. 

Bowman earned his Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering Degree and a Master’s in Education from Widener University. He has a K–12 Administrative Certification from the University of Scranton.

He joined the Bensalem Township School District in 2010 as a STEM and Applied Technology Teacher. He serves as the district’s K–12 Engineering Curriculum Leader. 

Dr. Benda earned her Doctorate in Educational Administration at Widener University. She earned her Supervisory Certification at Lehigh University, K-12 Music Education from Moravian College, Master of Music Degree from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Moravian College in Bethlehem.

Since 2008, Dr. Benda has served as Elementary Principal at Dr. P. A. Guth Elementary School in the Pennridge School District. Previously, she served as Elementary Principal at West Rockhill Elementary School in Pennridge and Roosevelt Elementary School in the Allentown School District.  She has also held various teaching and administrative positions in the Parkland School District.
