Bristol School to Merge with St. Ephrem

Many other regional mergers and closures announced.

 

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is planning to merge St. Mark school, Bristol, with , Bensalem, at the Bensalem site.

A 16-member blue ribbon panel has selected four high schools and 44 elementary schools that will be closed by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at the end of the 2011-2012 school year.

In addition to St. Ephrem, these other Bucks County mergers and closures were announced:

  • St. Michael the Archangel, Levittown, merges with Our Lady of Grace, Penndel at the Penndel site.
  • Assumption BVM, Feasterville, merges with St. Bede the Venerable, Holland, at the Holland site.
  • Holy Trinity, Morrisville, merges with St. John the Evangelist, Lower Makefield, at the Lower Makefield site.
  • St. John the Baptist, Ottsville, merges with St. Isidore, Quakertown, at the Quakertown site.
  • Conwell Egan HS closes outright

In February 2011, the parish school in Bensalem and six others in the region closed were marked for closure last June.
