On May 6, 2007, Rob was leading a brigade of more than 30 orange T-shirt-clad young runners from Shafer into the 10-mile Broad Street run when he collapsed and passed away at the finish line. He was just 29 years old. The race was formed to honor Rob’s memory and his dedication to personal fitness and the education of young people.

The Bucks County Roadrunners and the Just for the Kids Education Foundation coordinate this community run/walk each year as a way to keep Rob’s memory alive and to benefit a great cause.  Given Rob’s dedication to children, all money raised by this event goes to support the Just for the Kids Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to give the teachers in the Bensalem School District money for innovative programming (speakers, presentations, etc.) that otherwise may not be funded.
