New Board to Name Facilities Manager

The Bensalem Township School Board postponed appointing a facilities manager until after new board members take office.

The selection of a new facilities manager for Bensalem Township School District will have to wait until at least December.

That was the unofficial decision that the current board made in not appointing someone to the position Wednesday night.

After Wednesday's meeting, Board President Ralph Douglass, whose term is up at year's end, said that with three new board members taking office it was "prudent for them to be involved."

The position, which school district employee and Bensalem Township Councilman John Mathieu has been serving in since previous facilities manager Robert Moseley was arrested earlier this year as part of a $1.5 million theft ring, was originally supposed to be voted on last month.

Douglass said appointment of a new facilities manager could come sometime after the board's Dec. 2 reorganization meeting.
