Rotary Club Names Students of the Month

Accomplishment: These four students were honored on June 5 by the Rotary Club of Bensalem for being the May’s students of the month. Here's a little more infomation about the students:

  • Zachary Hizer was nominated by Principal Robert Anderson. Zachary achieved Principal’s List and Distinguished Honors in academics and was named to soccer All-League 2nd Team and Golden Team. He also participated in varsity baseball and Student Government. He is a huge Phillies fan and enjoys playing almost any outdoor sport. Zachary plans to attend Penn State.
  • Brittany Nettles was nominated by Assistant Principal Leonore Hope. Brittany achieved Principal’s List and Distinguished Honors and has been named Student of the Month previously. She is the Senior Class Treasurer and was highlighted in the Bucks County Courier Times for Swimming. She participates in N.H.S., Varsity Club, Student Government, Activities Committee, F.B.L.A. and O.T.N. She enjoys spending time with dad and friends, having quality “me” time and shopping. Brittany is attending Arcadia University, will major in Psychology and the will follow a Pre-Med track with hopes to become a Clinician and maybe work with children.
  • Joseph Nieves-Markee was nominated by Activities Director Valerie Ridge. Joseph was named Bucks County Courier Times Scholar Athlete for Bensalem High School, named Bowler of the Year for SOL National League Bowling and has been on Honor Roll throughout high school career. He participates in Bowling, Baseball, Varsity Club, Building Bridges, Activities Committee and Bible Club. He enjoys playing American Legion Baseball, playing on a Saturday morning bowling league and attending the Remnant Youth Group at church. Joseph is attending Philadelphia Biblical University to study Business Administration and Bible Studies with hopes to continue work in Youth Ministries while becoming successful in business.
  • Kayla Walker was nominated by Assistant Principal Leonore Hope. Kayla has been on Honor Roll. She participates in Softball, N.H.S. and tutors in Math. She enjoysreading, working at Taco Bell, volunteering at the library and going to the gym. Kayla is attending St. Joseph’s University to study Biology and then will continue on to Medical School to become a Sports Orthopedic Surgeon.
