Sherri Underland, a member of the Bensalem Township , was charged with marijuana possession along with her husband at the end of March.
According to a CBS Philly story, police were investigating her 19-year-old son in February.
“As a result of the investigation with her son it lead to a search warrant of her residence,” Bensalem Sgt. Andrew Aninsman told CBS.
During that search, police found drug paraphernalia and marijuana in her son’s room as well as a pill bottle containing marijuana in Underland’s bedroom.
Underland’s attorney told the drugs did not belong to her. Superintendent William Gretzula called it a “private matter” about which he knew no specifics.
Underland was elected to the school board in 2009. She is not one of the members facing challenges in tomorrow's .
