School Board Member Faces Drug Charges

Sherri Underland, a member of the Bensalem Township , was charged with marijuana possession along with her husband at the end of March.

According to a CBS Philly story, police were investigating her 19-year-old son in February.

“As a result of the investigation with her son it lead to a search warrant of her residence,” Bensalem Sgt. Andrew Aninsman told CBS.

During that search, police found drug paraphernalia and marijuana in her son’s room as well as a pill bottle containing marijuana in Underland’s bedroom.

Underland’s attorney told  the drugs did not belong to her. Superintendent William Gretzula called it a “private matter” about which he knew no specifics.

Underland was elected to the school board in 2009. She is not one of the members facing challenges in tomorrow's .

One more example of someone becoming a criminal for something that causes no harm. This so called war on drugs is lost. Just legalize the stuff and quit making criminals out of people who would rather smoke than drink. I'll take a stoner over a drunk any day.

I read the Courier Times article, as well as the CBS 3 report, and find something about this that smacks of a set up and one in the worst way!!
