Shafer Middle School Student Gets Published

Congratulations to Shafer Shark, Aparna Rao!

Aparna won the February Scholastic Scope “You Write It Contest.”  She transformed a Scholastic Scope interview about a 14-year old chess competitor into an article.  Aparna received a $25 Visa gift card and a Scopenotebook.  Her article is published on the Scholastic website.

But that's not all. Aparna also earned a summer arts scholarship from the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown  In June, she will be attending an art course entitled “Painting Workshop,” and in July and August she will be participating in the “Working on Canvas Workshop.”  She and her family will also receive a one-year family membership to the museum.
