Snow Day Means Extra Classroom Time This Week

Bensalem students were supposed to have an early dismissal this week, but that has been cancelled.

Last week's day off for Bensalem Township School District students means extra classroom time this week, according to the district.

Students were supposed to have a half-day on Thursday. But, the district announced on Monday morning that the previously scheduled professional development half-day has been cancelled, meaning students would be in school for a full day on Thursday.

Susan Phy, who handles the district's school and community relations, told Patch that the school calendar is built with 181 student days and students are required to attend 180 days.

"At this point, they would have one day to make up, but we usually do not present the revised calendar to the board for approval until the end of March," she said.
