Tune in to the Just for the Kids Tele-A-Thon

Bensalem Township School District will hold a tele-a-thon on Sunday, March 10 to raise money for the Just for the Kids foundation.

Supplies for science fairs, spelling bee's and other school projects aren't always included in school budgets, so the Just for the Kids foundation raises funds so that these projects can happen.

Sunday's Tele-A-Thon will be a 6-hour event where Bensalem Township school teachers and staff will accept pledges that will go directly to the Just for the Kids foundation.

The non-profit foundation raises funds that go to innovative and exciting and educational enhancement projects in the classroom, according to President Ralph Douglass, such as author talks, science fairs and more. The tele-a-thon is one of several fundraisers the foundation sponsors.

"Any of the funds raised goes into the foundations account and then as the projects get funded, the teachers will submit to us receipts and items they've purchased for reimbursement," Ralph Douglass, the foundation's president, said.

To make a pledge between 1 and 6:30 p.m., call 215-539-2422 or tune in to the live broadcast on the school district television channel (Comcast Channel 28 or Verizon FiOS 32) to watch the tele-a-thon.
