Whiz Kid: Jazz Musician

Whiz Kid: Neal Williamson

Accomplishment: Neal Williamson was recently selected to the prestigious Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State Festival. He submitted his comprehensive audition materials in December.  He video recorded a ton of music including scales, an extremely difficult jazz solo, a ballad and some improvisation. Neal will travel to Lancaster from April 18-21, to perform with the Jazz Ensemble. Students from across the state submit their audition materials each year with the hope of being selected for this very prestigious group. Neal was chosen as one of only four trombone players in the state. This is an extremely high honor and he has worked very hard to accomplish this goal, putting in many hours practicing and studying his instrument.
