( Elected officers are: Jacqueline Morell, President; Alexandra Afanassiev, Vice President; Radhika Patel, Secretary; and Austin Light, Treasurer.  In addition, the newly inducted members include: Nichelle Anderson, Domonique Aviles, Cathy Cooper, Sara Gormley, Taylor Hamilton, Shivani Khetani, Annmarie McCarthy, Rebecca Nicolo-Gill, Matthew Pagiegal, Angie Paniagua, Shivali Patel, Zoofshan Raza, Rebecca Reis, Derek Rymarczuk, Julie Schlenker, Sarah Smith, Alexis Stein, Abhinav Sundaresan, Samantha Walls, Jacob Witalec and Emily Wolak.)

School:  Robert K. Shafer Middle School

Accomplishment: These National Junior Honor Society inductees not only ended seventh grade with at least a 3.5 grade point average, but also exemplified the qualities of leadership, citizenship, character and service.  On March 10, these 25 students will be inducted into the Honor Society.  The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Shafer Gymnasium, 3333 Hulmeville Road. A Candlelighting Ceremony is planned to symbolize the motto of the National Junior Honor Society, “Light is the Symbol of Truth.” Advisors for NJHS are Mrs. Gerda Freeman and Mrs. Michele DiNapoli.
