Heat Relief Could Come This Weekend

Limit your time outdoors as a heat wave continues through Saturday.

Story by Susan Koomar

A cold front with showers and thunderstorms Saturday is expected to bring more comfortable weather for the start of next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Meanwhile, Bensalem and the rest of Bucks County will continue to swelter in heat that could pose dangerous conditions for anyone who works outside or lives in a residence without air conditioning.

An excessive heat warning is in effect until 8 p.m. Saturday. Limit your time outdoors to avoid heat stroke. Children and adults over 50 are most adversely affected.

Children and pets left in a hot car can die.

Daily highs will be in the mid- to high 90s reaching a heat index of 100 to 105 when humidity is factored in. The highest heat index will come between 1-6 p.m. daily. Overnight lows will drop into the 70s.
