Organizers said teams of runners have been hard at work raising money and getting sponsors. Proceeds from the Race for Resources will help Autism Cares Foundation get closer to creating an Autism Resource Center.

Last year, Autism Cares Foundation raised just under $100,000 through the Race for Resources. “This year we hope to raise even more,” said Linda Kuepper, co-founder and CEO of the Foundation.

“We are eager to move forward with the creation of an Autism Resources Center in Bucks County so Autism Cares Foundation finally has a permanent home for all of our events, which are always offered free of charge to children with autism and their families. The Autism Resources Center will also allow us to start focusing on the over-21 population with autism,” Kuepper said.

Registration for the race begins at 7:30 a.m. and the Autism Expo will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. The 10K race kicks off at 9 a.m., followed in five-minute increments by the 5K and the walk. Prizes will be awarded to the three top male and female winners of the 10K and 5K races.

“There will be food and drinks as well as activities for the kids, including a moon bounce, face painting, balloons and music. So come out to run, walk, talk and have a great time,” Grant said.
