Weekend Planner: Some Suggestions for Your Calendar

There's a pancake breakfast, shredder event, parades and craft fairs.

It’s the last weekend before Thanksgiving, so let’s make the most of it before our schedules get jammed up with decorating and shopping. Here are some options:

BENSALEM ROTARY CLUB PANCAKE BREAKFAST

When/Where: Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Love Fellowship Tabernacle Church, 5918 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem.

Why go: To eat delicious pancakes and help support the Rotary Club’s efforts to feed needy families this Thanksgiving.

Cost: Adult, $6; 3-12, $3; Under 3, free.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP SHREDDER EVENT

When/Where: Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Public Works Department, 3800 Hulmeville Road (in back of the Bensalem Rescue Squad at Hulmeville and Byberry roads). It runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go: Bensalem Township is hosting a shredder event. Limit of four boxes per household. Bensalem residents only. No commercial businesses permitted.

Cost: Free.

When/where: Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Hatboro on York Road between Newington Drive and Summit Avenue

Why go: Well, , but if that’s not enough, there will be about 100 entries from fire trucks to marching bands to car clubs, all strutting their stuff and handing out goodies. Oh, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will finish up the parade, collecting letters for the North Pole.

Cost: Free

When/where: Saturday, noon, Haines Rd & Mill Creek Pkwy, Levittown,

Why go: Harry S. Truman Marching Band, Philadelphia Eagles Pep Band, Police Honor Guard, Local Fire Companies, Antique Cars, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Local Sports Teams & Cheerleaders, Bristol Township Baton Twirlers. Of course, Santa and his helpers will be there to collect letters.

Cost: Free

Where/when: Saturday, 10 a.m.,

Why go: You will find over 20 unique crafters at this Holiday Craft show held in the 18th Century Framhouse. Crafts include candles, seasonal decorations and much more

Cost: Free

Where/when: Saturday at 2 p.m. (junior & intermediate divisions) and 8 p.m. (advanced division) at Neshaminy Maple Point Middle School in Middletown Township

Why go:  See the future of classical and symphonic band music!

Cost: $12, $6 for students and seniors

Where/when: Friday, 6:30 p.m. at , Feasterville

Why go: Bingo. Prizes. Music. It’s a family-friendly hat trick!

Cost: $5

Where/when: Friday, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.,

Why go:  Students in grades 6 through 8 can hang out and have a great time

Cost: $10
