Bensalem Democrat to Join Council, School Budget Prep Begins

Bensalem Democrat Bryan Allen will be sworn in as a township councilman on Monday night.

  • The Bensalem Township Council will hold its reorganization meeting on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the township municipal building, 2400 Byberry Road. The oath of office will be administered to Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo, as well as incumbent councilmen Tony Belfield and Joseph Pilieri and Bryan Allen, the top vote-getter in the November election and the council's lone Democrat.   • The Bensalem Zoning Hearing Board will hold its reorganization meeting on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The board will also continue the hearing for Bensalem Baptist Church's appeal. Click here to see what other matters will come before the board.
  • The Bensalem Business Association will meet on Wednesday at the Bensalem campus of Holy Family University, 1311 Bristol Pike, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo is guest speaker.
  • The Bensalem Township School Board will hold its committee meetings on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the district administration building, 3000 Donallen Dr. in Bensalem. The board will hold its first budget work session beginning at 7:30 p.m. 
  • Bensalem students will have a half day of school on Thursday.
