How is Union a safety issue? Well, if you house is on fire and you cal 911, what are the chances…Read More that Union will be staffed and actually show up? Your home could very well be a "scratch".
Now, maybe you have a boating accident and you call 911. The "Bear" will come save you! But wait, they have to drive to Tullytown to get the damn thing. That is, if someone is around who actually knows how to drive it without crashing or taking on water. By the time they get to you, your boat is sunk and hopefully, you're not too. There are safety concerns with Union, for sure.

Why would the Township plan on paying back the grant. The Township apparently had no…Read More involvement in filing for the grant. Union fire company made the ill-advised decision to apply and sign for the grant without any participation or approval of the Township, therefore, they are solely responsible to fulfill the federal requirement, if one exists. Sounds to me like there should have been a more thorough review of the grant application and supporting documentation by those responsible for awarding the grant to ensure this volunteer fire company was capable of maintaining and operating this vessel.
