Police: Man Attempted to Flee After Traffic Stop
State Police released recent crime information, including charges for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
Charges for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer were filed after a man refused to pull over during a traffic stop, according to state police reports. In late December, Cpl. Andrew V. Hartnett ran a check of a registration plate displayed on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 to find that the registration was suspended for insurance cancellation, a release from the Pennsylvania State Police said. Hartnett initiated a traffic stop. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 48-year-old man from Newtown, was pulled over on Veterans Highway, just north of Bath Road in Bristol Township, police said.
