Students from Bucks County Technical High School won 33 medals at the 2013 SkillsUSA state conference.
Students from Bucks County Technical High School took home 33 medals at the 2013 SkillsUSA state competitions held in Hershey, Pa. last week. Students traveled to Hershey on Wednesday, April 3 through Friday, April 5 to compete in the Leadership and Skills Conference, according to one of the students, Shane White. Prizes were awarded for skills in Occupational Health, Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Audio Production, Welding Sculpture and much more. SkillsUSA is a not-for-profit association serving teachers, high school students and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, according to the organization's website. The BCTHS drama department will perform 'Working' Friday's March 15 and 22 and Saturday's March 16 and 23.
Bucks County Technical High School's drama department will perform "Working" as this year's spring musical. For two weekends (Friday and Saturday, March 15-16 and 22-23) students will bring the musical, which is based on the 1974 book, Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do. "Working" gives an oral history of American workers, according to Director Adrienne Bogarde Roach, to the stage. "The book is based on interviews of hundreds of American men, women, and children of all ages, races and socioeconomic backgrounds," she said. An investigation into alleged 'inappropriate relations' between a staff member and student at Bucks County Technical High School is ongoing, sources say.
An investigation into a “personnel matter” is being conducted at Bucks County Technical High School, according to a letter issued to parents and students late in the week. Sources tell Patch the investigation is focusing on accusations of “inappropriate relations” between a male member of the teaching staff and a female student. The letter, dated Feb. 6., does not state what the investigation is focusing on, but it asks parents for their “support and confidence” in the administration's probe.
