$10K Stolen from Home, Police Say

Nearly $10K was stolen from a home, according to a recent police blotter, which raises the question: How much money is too much to have around the house?

Nearly $10,000 was reported stolen from a Bristol Borough home among other items, according to a recent police blotter. A home on the 800 block of Pine Street in Bristol was burglarized, according to a March 8 police blotter. Someone reportedly stole a 47 inch Vizio TV, a Cannon Rebel camera, and XBox 360 with games, a Playstation with games, an assortment of gold and silver jewelry, a motorcycle jacket, a Bose sound dock, CDs, a Playstation Vita with games, a D2Pad Android, a weed whacker, and a power drill, in addition to $9,400, the report said. Man Arrested for 26 Jewelry Burglaries

Bensalem Police arrested a Levittown man who was charged with 26 counts of burglary, theft and related charges.

Bensalem Police arrested a Levittown man on Wednesday, Jan. 16 who was connected to 26 burglaries that started in early 2012, according to police. Anthony Fanaro, 32, of Levittown was charged with 26 counts of burglary, theft and related charges after a yearlong investigation involving detectives from multiple municipalities throughout Bucks County, a police report said. Fanaro is the last to be arrested from a burglary ring that began in 2012. According to police, the burglary ring would break into unoccupied Bucks County homes and steal gold jewelry. The jewelry would then be sold at "Cash for Gold" stores in and around the Philadelphia area. The burglary ring was mostly comprised of heroin addicts who were fueling their addictions with …

I've never trusted pawn shops at all. But I do frequent the cash for gold in Bensalem. They photo copy all id's and write a phisical description of the items being sold, just for this purpose. Trouble is, they still aren't legally responsible for anything stolen that they melt down, and you still won't be entitled to get your money back from them. Police Report Jefferson Avenue Burglary

Bristol Borough Police reported a burglary that took place on Jan. 6, according to a blotter.

A burglary took place on Jefferson Avenue in Bristol Borough, according to a police report. On Jan. 6 around 12 p.m. a $1,350 worth of items were stolen from a home, police said. Golf clubs, an air conditioner, marble sing, toilet and four tire rims, all valued at $1,350, were taken. Police responded to other incidents including a citation for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct on Cedar Street, and a theft from a Ford that was parked on Lincoln Avenue. In the early morning hours on Dec. 2, several vehicles were broken into and a 2009 Nissan Altima was stolen in the 200 block of Tremain Road. Why didn't the Bensalem Police do this type of thing when in 2003 they let the Tatoo artist guy continue to molest for 8 more years because they were apparently negligent. Why hasnt this been reported in the Patch or Courier Times? I'm tired of reading about the DUI, Casino, and Kohls arrests and who cares about Health Department inspection reports??? Cash Taken in Langhorne Doughnut Shop Burglary

The Dunkin' Donuts in the Langhorne section of Middletown was hit be thieves on Thursday night.

  Police in Middletown are investigating the burglary of a busy doughnut shop in the Langhorne section of the township. According to authorities, the burglars made entry to the Dunkin' Donuts in the 600 block of West Maple Avenue in Langhorne at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday night. The side door to the building was found pried open. Once inside the store, the thieves made their way to cash register and took two draws filled with an undetermined amount of money, police said. The robbery happened after the shop was closed. The store, which is fairly new, is located on the corner of West Maple Avenue and Old Lincoln Highway. Parking is often hard to find at the busy location during weekday mornings.

On Monday, Nov. 26, Bensalem police made the following arrests: At 10:02 a.m., a 42-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested in the 2100 block of Bensalem Boulevard and charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft. He was arraigned and sent to Bucks County Prison. At 2 p.m., a 25-year-old Philadelphia man was charged with retail theft in the 400 block of Neshaminy Mall. The officer will proceed with charges via summons.

On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Bensalem police made the following arrests: At 10 a.m., a 36-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested in the 1200 block of Neshaminy Valley Drive and charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass. He was sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $70,000 bail. At 4:35 p.m., a 44-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested in the 1300 block of Bristol Pike and charged with retail theft. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

On Nov. 13 at 9:20 a.m., state police responded to the 100 block of Green Street, Hulmeville for an attempted burglary. According to the 22-year-old male victim, a suspect attempted to gain entry to his residence by opening the rear bedroom window where he was asleep. The suspect fled the scene after a brief verbal encounter with the startled victim.
