Charter School Asks Bristol Township For $500K In Casino Grant Funds
Representatives of prospective school asks to be financial 'partners' with Bristol Township.
Representatives from the prospective Bristol Township charter school, Excel Academy, gave a presentation to members of town council Thursday asking to receive $500,000 out of a Regional Development Authority Grant the township has applied for. We are not asking for one 'red' cent, we are asking for a partnership (with Bristol Township)," Bristol Excel Academy Co-Founder Rev. Mel Howard. Howard, along with co-founder James Jones, are asking for almost 30 percent of the funds the township has requested for this year from the R.D.A.'s Casino Impact Grant.
