Early Education Professionals Plan to Meet in Franconia

A "winter update" will address additional stresses young children are facing in the wake of recent violent school attacks.

With the violence of Sandy Hook Elementary School still fresh in the minds of parents and educators, the need to talk to young children about violence is evergrowing. Bucks and Montgomery county educators will soon have a chance to learn how to best handle what can be a very difficult discussion to have. The Montgomery County Cooperative Extension of Penn State will host a 2013 Winter Update for Early Education professionals. The six-hour conference will be held at the Franconia Heritage Restaurant, Banquet and Conference Center, 508 Harleysville Pike, Telford. Holy Family Hosts Free Social Justice Conference

It takes place all day Friday.

"A Just World: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Social Justice" is a conference that will explore social justice from a variety of scholarly and relevant points of view Friday, March 30 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. It will take place in the auditorium of Holy Family's Education and Technology Center, 9801 Frankford Ave. (just a couple blocks from Andalusia). The conference is free and open to the public. There will be onsite registration. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. According to a release, the event is sponsored by Holy Family University, Philadelphia Dialogue Forum, Peace Islands Institute, and Lutheran Theological Seminary. Fitzpatrick To Meet Energy Officials At BCCC

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick and energy officials meet at the colleges energy conference on Thursday..

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick will meet representatives of four major energy industries at Bucks County Community College to discuss the future of American energy, oil dependency and new technology. The school will be holding its first ever energy conference, titled America's Energy Future, at its Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol on Thursday. "We hope this will be a good springboard for insightful discussion on America's current energy policy," Bill Pezza said. Pezza, an author and political science professor at Bucks, will host the conference. The conference's topic seems to be a poignant one considering current events.
