Counterfeit Money Suspected at Parx

The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose Station. It does not imply conviction.

Between Dec. 22-26, state troopers stationed at Parx Casino reported the following incidents: *A suspected counterfeit $100 bill was discovered from an attempted exchange at the cashiers. The investigation is continuing.  *A black Apple iPod 4S, 32 GB fell from the victims pocket while on the gaming floor. A few seconds later, an unidentified male picked up the phone and exited the casino. The suspect was a white male and was wearing a sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black baseball hat. The suspect was seen exiting the casino out of the West entrance/exit with the stolen phone in hand. State Police Investigate Extension Cord Theft, Counterfeit Cash

Trevose troopers are investigating a theft reported in Penndel and a counterfeit $100 bill at Parx Casino.

  The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose station and gaming control troopers stationed at Parx Casino. State police are investigating a burglary/theft that occurred in the 400 block of Cynthia Avenue, Penndel. According to the victim, between Oct. 17-24 somebody removed a pad lock from his storage shed and stole four electric extension cords. Trevose troopers are investigated the theft of a pickup truck tailgate from SEPTA’s Corwells Heights Park & Ride station. Local troopers discovered counterfeit money – a $100 bill and two $20 bills.

  Between Sept. 11-19, state police reported the following incidents: On Sept. 11 at 9:45 p.m., state police stationed at Parx Casino were called to the gaming floor when a suspected counterfeit $100 bill was discovered in an attempted exchange from a 28-year-old woman from Bronx, NY, at a black jack table game. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. On Sept. 14 at 12:28 p.m., state police from the Trevose station responded to the Route 1 toll bridge in Morrisville for a report of a counterfeit bill. Between May 15-20, troopers stationed at Parx Casino reported the following incidents: On May 15 at 9:15 p.m., state police said Thomas Murtha, 53, of Levittown, created a disturbance and exhibited fighting behavior towards a 73-year-old casino security guard from Bensalem. Murtha was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. On May 16 at 8:20 p.m., state police investigated a forgery/counterfeit bill. Troopers Investigate Casino Incidents

Incidents included thefts and counterfeit bills.

Between May 10-13, state police responded to the following incidents at Parx Casino: State police are investigating a bankcard theft that allegedly occurred between May 10-11 at Parx Casino. Police said a 46-year-old Willingboro, NJ woman claims her ATM card was used for several unauthorized withdrawals and fees totaling $942.93. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. On May 11 at 9:15 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported theft. State Police Report Casino Thefts, Counterfeit Money

The following information was provided by state police stationed at Parx Casino. It does not imply conviction.

Between May 1-9, state police stationed at Parx Casino responded to the following incidents: On May 1 at noon, state police arrested a casino employee on theft and drug-related charges. An investigation revealed that Shane Stone, 25, of Bensalem, had removed at least $1,000 and concealed it on his person while counting money on two different days. A search of his locker revealed possession of drugs – marijuana and mushrooms. Stone was arraigned before Judge Michael Burns and released in lieu of $25,000 bail. Cpl. Between April 27-30, Trevose troopers investigated the following casino incidents: On April 27 at 7:15 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported counterfeit bill. Police said a 62-year-old female from Staten Island, NY, attempted to exchange a counterfeit $100 bill at the main cashier. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. On April 29 at 2:30 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported theft. Police said a 56-year-old male from Fairless Hills left $155 worth of credits at a slot machine. Troopers Report Crashes, Theft, Counterfeit Money

Between March 27 and April 4, Trevose troopers responded to the following incidents: On March 27 at 8:33 a.m., state police responded to a hit-and-run accident on I-95 northbound at milepost 33.7 in Bensalem. Police said a silver Honda Civic driven by a Hispanic male changed lanes and struck another vehicle fleeing northbound on I-95. No injuries were reported. Between March 2-5, Trevose troopers investigated the following incidents: On March 2 just after 3 p.m., state police responded to Parx Casino for a reported forgery/counterfeit bill. Police said a suspected counterfeit $5 bill was discovered during an attempted exchange by a 60-year-old male from Philadelphia at a cashier. Trooper R. Keeys investigated the incident. State police are investigating an act of criminal mischief that took place in the 300 block of N. Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, between March 3 at 7:30 p.m. and March 4 at 9:30 a.m. The victim reported that someone scratched his two vehicles – a 2010 Jaguar and a 2011 Subaru Forester.
