Injured Teen Airlifted from Technical High School

An emergency medical helicopter took an injured teen from Bucks County Technical High School to the hospital on Thursday.

A medical helicopter operated by the University of Pennsylvania landed at Bucks County Technical High School on Thursday morning to rush an injured teen to the hospital. The 14-year-old boy suffers from "brittle bone disease" and fractured his femur during school. Emergency medical crews deemed it in the victim's best interest to transport him via helicopter, Principal Mary Kelly said. Local fire crews established a landing zone at the high school in Bristol Township so the distinctive blue and white helicopter was able to land and transport the 14-year-old to a city hospital just before 10 a.m., emergency officials said. Event Planned to Benefit Danny Mac Fund

Event includes beef, beer, music and good times.

Area residents will have a chance to get out and have a good time for a good cause. A Beef & Beer is being held to benefit the Daniel McIntosh Memorial Fund on Saturday, Sept. 10. The event is held in commemoration of Bensalem emergency medical services paramedic Daniel "Danny Mac" McIntosh who died last March. McIntosh, a thirteen-year veteran of Bensalem EMS, suffered a major heart attack after responding to a distress call and died later at Aria Health's Torresdale campus at Red Lion and Knight's Road. He was 39 years old. The event will be held at Polanka Park, 3258 Knights Road. Appearing live will be the Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums, Stem, No Irish Need Apply and Saturn.
