DEP Grants Help Small Businesses Cut Energy Costs, Pollution

Grants are up to $7,500 to adopt or acquire energy-efficient or pollution prevention equipment or processes.

Small-business owners in Pennsylvania, including those in Bucks and Montgomery counties, hoping to prevent pollution and save money by improving energy efficiency are now eligible to apply for a Small Business Advantage Grant through the Department of Environmental Protection. According to a release, businesses can apply for 50-percent matching grants of up to $7,500 to adopt or acquire energy-efficient or pollution prevention equipment or processes. “This program provides small-business owners with the opportunity to invest in an energy efficiency or pollution prevention project beneficial for their own specific business,” DEP Secretary Mike Krancer said. “Energy efficiency projects cut costs, increase profitability and protect our …

Fitzpatrick To Meet Energy Officials At BCCC

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick and energy officials meet at the colleges energy conference on Thursday..

Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick will meet representatives of four major energy industries at Bucks County Community College to discuss the future of American energy, oil dependency and new technology. The school will be holding its first ever energy conference, titled America's Energy Future, at its Lower Bucks Campus in Bristol on Thursday. "We hope this will be a good springboard for insightful discussion on America's current energy policy," Bill Pezza said. Pezza, an author and political science professor at Bucks, will host the conference. The conference's topic seems to be a poignant one considering current events.
