A Bensalem woman was charged Wednesday with numerous offenses in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that happened along Newportville Road.
More than three months after the Newportville Road motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Bristol Township resident John Chester and forever altered the life of his girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, the woman accused of causing the wreck was arrested. Devon Crispo, 26, of Bensalem, turned herself in at the Bristol Township Police Department Wednesday morning on several serious charges, including homicide by vehicle while under the influence. The fatal accident happened at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 as Chester rode his red 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Newportville Road, toward Route 13, with O’Driscoll on the back. A Bristol Township resident died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car. Bristol Borough police are investigating the accident.
A Bristol Township woman has passed away from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Bristol Borough. Christina “Tina” Szymanek, 60, of Bath Road, was walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a car driven by a Croydon resident at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, according to borough police. The victim was taken by ambulance to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital. She died several hours later, police reported on Tuesday. The driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident. Authorities have not released further details on the crash. Monday, 1:21 p.m.: The victims of Saturday evening’s motorcycle vs. car crash at Street Road and Knowles Avenue in Upper Southampton have been identified as John “Jack” Edel, 52, of the Trevose section of Lower Southampton, and Ellen Kelly, 50, of Penndel. Edel, who was pronounced dead shortly after arriving by ambulance at Abington Memorial Hospital, was driving the black and metallic colored Yamaha motorcycle. A Penndel and Trevose area man and woman died after the wreck in Upper Southampton Saturday evening.
