Child Killed in School Bullying Incident to be Honored at Phillies Game

12-year-old Bailey O'Neill, who died from injuries sustained during a playground bullying incident, will be honored by the Philadelphia Phillies during their home game against the Red Sox on May 29.

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced they will dedicate their home game on May 29 to the memory of 12-year-old Bailey O'Neill, who died as a result of injuries sustained during a playground bullying incident in March. "We extended the invite to the O'Neill family, and they graciously accepted," said Scott Palmer, Public Affairs Director for the Philadelphia Phillies. "Now we're working on planning out the rest of the day." Bensalem Woman Charged with Homicide in Bristol Motorcycle Crash

A Bensalem woman was charged Wednesday with numerous offenses in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that happened along Newportville Road.

More than three months after the Newportville Road motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Bristol Township resident John Chester and forever altered the life of his girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, the woman accused of causing the wreck was arrested. Devon Crispo, 26, of Bensalem, turned herself in at the Bristol Township Police Department  Wednesday morning on several serious charges, including homicide by vehicle while under the influence. The fatal accident happened at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 as Chester rode his red 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Newportville Road, toward Route 13, with O’Driscoll on the back. Woman Struck, Killed Along Route 13

A Bristol Township resident died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car. Bristol Borough police are investigating the accident.

A Bristol Township woman has passed away from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Bristol Borough. Christina “Tina” Szymanek, 60, of Bath Road, was walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a car driven by a Croydon resident at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, according to borough police. The victim was taken by ambulance to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital. She died several hours later, police reported on Tuesday. The driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident. Authorities have not released further details on the crash. Police: Drunk Driving Caused Deadly Street Road Motorcycle Crash

Police said John Edel, the operator of the motorcycle, had a blood alcohol level 2.5 times the legal limit at the time of the accident.

  The Upper Southampton Police Department issued the following statement Friday afternoon:             The Upper Southampton Township Police Department has concluded its investigation into traffic accident which occurred on June 30, 2012 at the intersection of Street Road and Knowles Avenue which claimed the lives of motorcycle operator John Edel and his passenger Ellen Kelly.  The accident investigation revealed that John Edel disregarded a steady red traffic signal located at the intersection of Knowles Avenue while traveling on Eastbound Street Road. Police: Motorcycle Struck Car in Fatal Street Road Accident (Updated)

The two people killed were both Neshaminy School District employees and had children.

Monday, 1:21 p.m.: The victims of Saturday evening’s motorcycle vs. car crash at Street Road and Knowles Avenue in Upper Southampton have been identified as John “Jack” Edel, 52, of the Trevose section of Lower Southampton, and Ellen Kelly, 50, of Penndel. Edel, who was pronounced dead shortly after arriving by ambulance at Abington Memorial Hospital, was driving the black and metallic colored Yamaha motorcycle. Kelly, the passenger, was flung from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported in a release. Both of the victims were wearing helmets, Detective Craig Rudisill confirmed. Two Dead After Street Road Motorcycle Crash

A Penndel and Trevose area man and woman died after the wreck in Upper Southampton Saturday evening.

A middle-aged man and woman are dead after a serious wreck involving a car and motorcycle at Street Road and Knowles Avenue, police said. The female victim police Lt. Frank Groome said, was pronounced dead at the scene and the male victim was declared dead shortly after being taken from the crash site by paramedics.
