A man was struck and killed early Friday morning along Route 13.
A man was struck and killed by pick-up truck early Friday morning outside the Golden Eagle Diner on Route 13 in Bristol Borough. According to police Sgt. Pete Faight, the victim was walking in a lane of travel at the Bath Road turn off on Route 13 when a pick-up truck driven by a New Jersey man going to work struck and killed the victim just before 2:30 a.m. NBC 10 identified the man as Enrigue Garcia, 44. The death remains under investigation, but the driver of the truck is fully cooperating with the investigation, Faight said. He added that the driver said he did not see Garcia until it was too late. The local teen who was struck by a car in a crosswalk on his way to his Bensalem Boulevard school bus stop Thursday morning died from his injuries early Saturday. Ryan Viola, 17, a senior at Bucks County Technical High School, passed away after he was removed from life support at Aria Hospital Torresdale, according to PhillyBurbs. According to NBC, Lisa Ann Murray, 54, of Philadelphia, said she never saw the Viola because it was too dark at 6:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. She reportedly had the green light. The accident occurred Saturday evening at Routes 152 and 113 in Silverdale Borough. The victims are Mary E. Dodds, 49, of Montgomery Township, and Stacy Byrne, 32, of Croydon
The two victims in Saturday's fatal accident in Upper Bucks County have been identified by police. One victim is from Croydon. The driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier involved in the crash was identified as Stacy Byrne, 32, of Prospect Avenue, Croydon, police said. The driver of the Toyota Camry — which hit the Cavalier from behind, struck a rock and went airborne — is identified as Mary E. Dodds, 49, of the 100 block of Damson Lane, Montgomery Township, police said. The passenger in the Cavalier who was injured was Byrne's husband, Ian Byrne. One person is dead and several were hurt after a early-morning accident in Middletown Township.
Northbound Route 1 in Middletown was closed after a multi-vehicle accident left one person dead and others injured. The highway reopened after 7:30 a.m. As of 6:50 a.m., police were on the scene of the deadly accident that has shutdown all Northbound lanes of the roadway between Maple Avenue and Business Route 1., PennDOT and county officials confirm. According to 6abc.com, the accident happened just before 5 a.m. and involved three vehicles. Aside from the fatality, the wreck left several people injured, NBC10 reported. Officials from the Parkland Fire Company are assisting police at the scene.

A Montgomery County officer from Plymouth Township was killed in the line of duty Thursday. Bradley Fox, 34, a K9 officer and seven-year veteran of the force, was shot in the head at about 6 p.m. during a foot pursuit of an unidentified suspect in the vicinity of Conshohocken Road and Ernest Station Road, near the Schuylkill River Trail. Patch contacted Bensalem Pubilc Safety Director Fred Harran last night for a comment regarding this incident. "Whenever a officer is killed it hits home," Harran said. Six people died and 262 others were injured in 746 crashes investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police during the Aug. 31– Sept. 3 Labor Day holiday driving period, Commissioner Frank Noonan said this week. Of the total crashes, 88 were alcohol-related, including one fatal crash. During the four-day holiday travel period, troopers arrested 440 persons for driving under the influence, issued 7,761 speeding citations, and issued 109 citations for not securing children in safety seats. Troopers also cited 783 people for failing to wear seat belts. Bensalem police have released the names of the deceased and injured from the one-vehicle crash in Trevose on Monday. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Aurelio Xhepaj and the front passenger was identified as Mary Logan, both of Philadelphia. They remain hospitalized at this time but their conditions are unknown, police said. The deceased rear passenger was identified as Michelle Price, 19, from North Carolina. On Monday, Sept. 3 at 10:25 p.m., police responded to 3153 Lincoln Highway (the Driver’s Choice store) for a report of a one-vehicle crash. According to reports, a fiery one-vehicle crash on Route 1 northbound between Street Road and the Pa. Turnpike claimed the life of a passenger last night. A PhillyBurbs story detailed the crash through bystanders’ accounts. A hotel employee told PhillyBurbs he was able to help two passengers but unable to help the third. The highway was closed for several hours following the crash. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Warminster Police will close a portion of Street Road tomorrow, to reconstruct Sunday's deadly accident.
Warminster Police will shut down Street Road between Jacksonville and Centennial Roads Tuesday morning, to reconstruct a deadly car-versus-motorcycle accident that involved a driver from Southampton. Police said Aaron Matthews, of Southampton, was driving with three children in the car when the collision occurred on Street Road near Newtown Road Sunday evening. According to a statement issued by the Warminster Police Department, the motorcycle and sedan collided in the intersection just before 9 p.m. Sunday, causing "both disabling and catastrophic damage" to the vehicles and the occupant of the motorcycle. There have been too many tragic accidents with pedestrians. I know its hard for people today to fund a car and many people have to walk to stores and work but walking in a lane of traffic or crossing where there is no traffic light is just too dangerous. Its a tragedy for the injured and the driver. Additionally people walking at night are usually wearing dark clothing.   more ›
