Historical Society Helps Tell Bensalem's Story
Want to know the township's history? There's only one place to go.
The editor of Bensalem Patch is the newest member of the Bensalem Township Historical Society, a nonprofit group dedicated to educating and fostering an appreciation of the historical heritage of Bensalem. Yesterday, Sally Sondesky, the Society's treasurer, was kind enough to explain the group's history and to give this journalist a grand tour of its facility at 3211 Knights Rd. "Bensalem has such an interesting history," she said. Sondesky, one of two surviving original founders, explained that the Society was incorporated in 1977 after a group of local residents met to plan the township's bicentennial celebration.
