Police: Man Threatens to Kill Woman in Croydon

A 65-year-old man was placed under arrest in the Croydon section of Bristol Township.

A 65-year-old New York City man was charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and harassment after an incident at the Croydon Laundromat on Route 13 (Bristol Pike). Bristol Township police responded to the laundromat on Monday, Feb. 11 after they received a harassment call at 10:14 p.m, court records show. The man arrived and confronted an employee who owes him money and told her, "If I don't get my money, I am going to kill you and make you lose your job," according to an affidavit. The victim told investigators her friend witnessed the threats. Authorities cited the same man two days prior for harassment related on an incident which happened on Saturday, Feb. 2. Armed Robbery, Police Activity Punctuate Evening in Borough

A reported armed robbery and police activity all occurred in Bristol Borough Thursday evening.

An armed robbery at the Dollar General on Route 13 and police activity around Cleveland Street made for an interesting evening in Bristol Borough on Thursday. According to emergency radio reports and a county dispatch official, police were summoned to the Dollar General along Route 13 (Bristol Pike) at around 5 p.m. for reports of an armed robbery. An alert from the Breaking News Network, a service that monitors police radio transmissions, reported the robbery suspect was a "stocky white male" armed with a handgun. The suspect made away with $100 in cash, PhillyBurbs.com reported. Police are testing Smith's DNA in a national database. Also, Smith's former sister-in-law speaks about the Levittown man and more details on his arrest record come out.

Investigators in Philadelphia will run DNA samples taken from alleged murderer and Levittown resident Jason Smith through a national crime database, police said. NBC10 reports that police are comparing Smith’s DNA to that of the Fairmount Park Rapist and samples gathered after several sexual assaults near Pennypack Park in Northeast Philadelphia. City police say the suspect in the Fairmount Park is connected to at least three violent sexual assault cases. All the crimes happened between 2003 and 2007. One of the cases includes the 2003 murder 30-year-old Rebecca Park, a medical student, whose death was caused by strangulation. The suspect in the murder and rapes was described to Mt. Friends, Family Say Murder Suspect Was Troubled

Several who knew Crabtree resident Jason Smith, who is accused of murdering a Philadelphia doctor, say he had temper issues in his past.

Prior to his arrest on charges of murder last week, Levittown pest exterminator Jason Smith had a relatively clean criminal record. However, several people close to the 36-year-old father said he had a somewhat troubled past. A former friend of Smith’s who spoke on the condition of anonymity told Patch that the Crabtree section resident could have a temper, but murder was not something he felt his old friend was capable of. Smith's fiance, who shared the two-story Crabtree section house with him, her young daughter and other family members, told 6abc the whole family is upset and knew nothing about the her partner of six year's alleged crime until authorities took him away and shot the family dog Wednesday night. Police: Exterminator Murders Young Doctor During Argument

Police release more details about the murder of Philadelphia doctor Melissa Ketunuti, who was allegedly killed by a Levittown exterminator, Jason Smith.

He was an exterminator; she was a young pediatrician at one of the nation’s most esteemed children’s hospitals. Late Monday morning, police allege, Melissa Ketunuti, 35, and Jason Smith, 36, of Levittown, crossed paths when the freelance exterminator came to her brick-faced townhome at 1728 Nauddain Street in Center City for a scheduled appointment to take care of rodents in the home. Levittown Man Charged with Murder of Doctor

Police say that Jason Smith, 36, of Levittown, has been charged with the murder of Philadelphia pediatrician Melissa Ketunuti.

Thursday, 11:13 a.m.: During a press conference, Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark, Commanding Officer of Homicide Unit, stated that Jason Smith has been charged with the murder of pediatrician Melissa Ketunuti in addition to an arson and related charges. Detectives used "every bit" of surveillance footage in the area of the victim's home to develop Smith as a suspect. At 10 p.m. Wednesday night, Philadelphia Police, U.S. Marshals and Bristol Police went to Smith's house in Bristol Township and transported him back to the Philadelphia Police homicide unit for questioning. Bensalem Woman Charged with Homicide in Bristol Motorcycle Crash

A Bensalem woman was charged Wednesday with numerous offenses in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that happened along Newportville Road.

More than three months after the Newportville Road motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Bristol Township resident John Chester and forever altered the life of his girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, the woman accused of causing the wreck was arrested. Devon Crispo, 26, of Bensalem, turned herself in at the Bristol Township Police Department  Wednesday morning on several serious charges, including homicide by vehicle while under the influence. Area Mummers To Perform At New Year's Day Parade

The Uptown String Band is based in Hulmeville.

Lower Bucks County-based Uptown String Band is set to perform at the annual Philadelphia Mummers Parade on New Years Day. The band's theme for 2013 is “Cops And Robbers ‘Keystone Kops And Kapers.’” At Tuesday's parade, the Uptown String Band will be competeing against 16 other groups from around the region. In the 2012 parade, the group ranked in 11th place. Their theme was "Jest for the Pun of It." Uptown has been based in Hulmeville Borough since 1990. The group is rooted in North West Philadelphia and first appeared in the city's 1938 mummers parade. The Mummers Parade has its origins in the mid-1600s and features a blend of European and some African cultural elements. The parade will be broadcast live starting at 8 a.m. on MyPHL 17.

Fire Vehicles Hit Sunday Night

A car hit two fire vehicles on Sunday evening. No firefighters were seriously hurt.

A man driving a black Pontiac struck two fire trucks in Bensalem Sunday evening. According to internet posts, the black car struck utility and engine trucks belonging to William Penn and Penndel fire companies. PhillyBurbs.com reports the Penndel fire engine was attempting to block the car from fleeing at the intersection of Bensalem Boulevard and Hulmeville Road. Just prior, the car struck the William Penn Fire Co.'s utility truck. Police told PhillyBurbs the driver of the car revved his engine before intentionally slamming into the truck.
