Lower Southampton, Bensalem Mosquito Spraying Slated for Tuesday

The Bucks County Department of Health will be conducting a mosquito spraying Tuesday, August 21 in Bensalem and Lower Southampton.

The Bucks County Department of Health has announced that it will be conducting a mosquito spraying, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, in Lower Southampton and Bensalem Tuesday, August 21. In Bensalem, the spraying will take place between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. - weather permitting. The spray will be limited to the municipal building property and open air theater. Immediately after spraying in Bensalem, Health Department officials will also be spraying the following streets in Lower Southampton Township: Sterner Mill Road between East Street Road and Philmont Avenue; Bruce Road; Fay Drive; David Drive and Ann Drive. West Nile Virus Found in Bensalem

More than 70 mosquito samples and three birds tested positive for West Nile virus today in Pennsylvania, including seven Bucks County.

  Mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus have now been found in Bensalem, Warminster, Warington and Northampton, as well as 14 other municipalities across Pennsylvania. So far this season, 22 dead birds in 14 counties also tested positive, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. DEP spokeswoman Amanda Witman said that there have been more than 400 positive samples statewide in Pennsylvania since May 3. However, there have been no human cases to this point, Witman said. But according to the DEP, Bucks County is now a High Risk hot zone for West Nile mosquitoes. The West Nile season runs from May 31 through Oct. 31 every year, Witman said. Mosquito Spraying Set for Bensalem, Bristol on Sept. 19, 20

DEP gives tips on how to prevent mosquitoes on your property.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will apply treatments the evenings of Monday, Sept. 19, and Tuesday, Sept. 20, in portions of Bristol and Bensalem townships to control adult mosquito populations. As a result of recent flooding, high populations of adult mosquitoes capable of transmitting the West Nile virus have been detected near these areas of the county. The treatments will be administered with truck- and ATV-mounted equipment to spray open spaces in residential and recreational areas. The equipment dispenses Biomist 3 + 15, a permethrin insecticide product, or Duet, a dual-action adulticide, at a rate of 1.25 ounces per acre. County Sprays Mosquitoes Today in Bristol

Area in includes streets in the Whitewood section.

The Bucks County Health Department will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Wednesday, August 10, beginning at dusk – weather permitting. The area to be treated in Bristol Township includes all streets within the Whitewood Section. Two vehicles will be involved in the treatment; a green Chevrolet pickup truck and a Ford Ranger pickup truck (both bearing the Bucks County seal). County to Spray Mosquitoes in Middletown Monday

They’re spraying all the H-streets around Highland Park Drive.

The Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Monday, July 11, beginning at dusk – weather permitting. According to a release, the area to be treated in Middletown Township includes Harvest Road, Heartwood Road, Highland Park Drive from Trenton Road to Harvest Road, Harp Road, Hawk Road, Hardy Road, Hydrangea Road, Hunt Road, and Hamlet Road. The treatment area also includes Homestead, Hearth, Haven, Hale and Horn Roads. The vehicle to be used will be identified with Bucks County logos. hello my neighbor has a green pool and it has been green for over two monthes now. They had their electric shut off for a couple weeks now and before that over a month. And now it is to the point where my kids cant play in their own yard without getting bit up by mosquitos.They are young kids from 2 to 4 years old. what can I do about it? They wont drain it. They are targeting mosquitoes in Neshaminy State Park.

The Bucks County Health Department, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will conduct an adult mosquito spray on Wednesday, June 1, at dusk – weather permitting. The area to be treated includes Neshaminy State Park in Bensalem, as well as the marina in Croydon situated in Bristol Township. This spraying also will include the following streets and avenues in Bristol Township: 1st through 6th avenues and Miller, Delaware, Minot, Rosa, Main, Magnolia, Sycamore and Excelsior avenues.
