A Bensalem woman was charged Wednesday with numerous offenses in connection with a deadly motorcycle crash that happened along Newportville Road.
More than three months after the Newportville Road motorcycle crash that claimed the life of Bristol Township resident John Chester and forever altered the life of his girlfriend, Brianna O’Driscoll, the woman accused of causing the wreck was arrested. Devon Crispo, 26, of Bensalem, turned herself in at the Bristol Township Police Department Wednesday morning on several serious charges, including homicide by vehicle while under the influence. The fatal accident happened at 7:35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 as Chester rode his red 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Newportville Road, toward Route 13, with O’Driscoll on the back. Daniel McBride's motorcycle was hit by a box truck that did not stop Saturday afternoon in Lower Makefield.
Daniel McBride was heading to his Newtown home via I-95 Saturday afternoon when the white box truck he was sharing the road with abruptly struck the rear of his 1998 Suzuki motorcycle which he recently restored. The 27-year-old and his bike went off the concrete ramp on I-95 that leads to the Newtown Bypass; he slid about 20 feet across the ground and landed in path of oncoming traffic. Thankfully, the motorists who were coming up the off ramp and up toward the Newtown Bypass stopped. The driver of the white box truck that state troopers say caused the accident did not. Kyle Schwab, 22, of Trevose, was killed in the wreck. The victim was an Archbishop Wood graduate.
Saturday, 9:15 a.m.: The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Trevose resident Kyle Schwab, police told Patch Saturday morning. The victim's father is a police officer in Bensalem. Schwab was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster and, according to social media, had worked as a service technician and apprentice at Champion Chimney and Masonry in Philadelphia. As of Saturday morning, the female driver of the Lexus remains in the hospital in unknown condition, Upper Southampton Chief of Police Ron MacPherson said. The accident remains under investigation.
