Cindy Berdick of Bensalem is banned from babysitting as part of a plea deal.
A Bensalem babysitter was sentenced to five years probation and is banned from babysitting, according to reports. Cindy Berdick, 41, pleaded guilty to simple assault and child endangerment in Bucks County Court on Monday, according to both CBS Philly and PhillyBurbs. Berdick, who is a mother of three, admitted to assaulting a 4-month-old boy who was in her care last year after he suffered a near-fatal brain injury, CBS Philly reported. She didn't speak in court and offered no explanation as to why she harmed the baby. During the investigation, Berdick told detectives that the baby had been crying hysterically for 90 minutes before his arms and legs went stiff and his eyes rolled back in his head, CBS reported. Two people were arrested for simple assault according to a recent Bensalem Township Police Department blotter.
Over the weekend Bensalem Township police arrested two people with simple assault and harassment charges, according to reports. Just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, a 15-year-old female was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment on the 1900 block of Park Avenue in Bensalem. She was taken to Edison Juvenile Detention Center. On Friday, Jan. 4 at 10:19 a.m., a 30-year-old woman was arrested on the 800 block of Cedar Avenue. The woman, whose name can be seen on the police blotter, was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment, and was released on $25,000 unsecured bail, according to the police blotter. On Wednesday, Nov. 28, Bensalem police made the following arrests: At 9:09 p.m., a 34-year-old Bensalem woman was arrested in the 2000 block of Brown Avenue and charged with simple assault and harassment. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. At 9:32 p.m., a 55-year-old Bensalem man was arrested in the 2700 block of Carter Road and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12, Bensalem police made the following arrests: At 12:01 a.m., Tenesha Virdell Smith, 25, of the 200 block of Robat Street, Philadelphia, was arrested in the 2700 block of Lincoln Highway, Trevose on an outstanding warrant out of Philadelphia. She was turned over to Philadelphia Police Warrant Unit. At 8:15 p.m., James M. Beningo, 33, of the 7800 block of Craig Street, Philadelphia, was arrested in the 2700 block of Lincoln Highway, Trevose and charged with simple assault. He was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

On Thursday, July 26, Bensalem police charged Bensalem man Mark Quesenberry with simple assault. Quesenberry, 32, of the 800 block of Durham Place, was arrested in the 2400 block of Byberry Road. He was sent to Bucks County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

The parents were investigated as well as the other babysitters. As noted in a previous comment the parents took a lie detector test and passed. I do believe Cindy was asked to take one and declined. Why doesn't Cindy take one now?? If medical records supposedly show that the brain bleeds were old Cindy should gone to trial and had her medical experts speak to that but she didn't.
