Snow: It Could be a White Christmas

Forecasters are keeping a close eye on long range weather patterns that could turn into snow next week and into the holidays. One model shows a historic-level snow storm.

It could be much more than a White Christmas; one weather model shows the poential for a storm that could bring two feet of snow next week. Accuweather says it is watching a possibly snowy, colder weather pattern for next week and into the holidays. "Our forecast tools continue to show the potential for several storm systems that could track from the South to the East from next week through the holiday," the weather service says in this website post. Winter Storm Warning in Effect Through Sunday Morning

A warning from the National Weather Service said the snow will taper off around midnight.

A winter storm warning is in effect throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties until early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The warning remains in effect until 2 a.m. on Sunday, with the snow slowing around midnight. Four to 10 inches of snow is expected to accumulate, according to the weather service, with the accumulation being highest in the northern parts of the counties. Additionally, temperature will be around or just below freezing this evening, which will cause icy spots on the road and sidewalks. If you must venture out, the weather service urges you use extra care. Because of the early winter weather, PECO has reported many power outages throughout Bucks County.
