Patch readers in Bucks and Montgomery picked a photo by Brieana Savard as the best photo in our What I did on my Summer Vacation photo contest. The picture shows the Golden Gate Bridge from Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. "It was a 17-day long vacation where we took a train to Washington, then another train to Chicago, and one last train to San Francisco," said Brieana. "I went with my boyfriend and his family. ... We had a sleeping car for the overnight rides so we slept right in there and had meals on the train and everything. From there we rented a car and visited San Francisco, Yosemite, Hollywood, Disneyland, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and Monument Valley!" Patch readers in Bucks and Montgomery picked a photo by Deana Pellitta as the best photo in our Be an Olympian contest. The picture is of 9-year-old Sophia Pellitta. Sophia wanted her mother to enter this picture of her doing a split because she's proud of the accomplishment. It took a while for her to be able to do it. "This is her third year of gymnastics," her mother, Deana, said. "She especially enjoys the balance beam and floor routines. She has dreams of Olympic gold for sure ... 2020 here she comes!" The picture was taken at her class at the Newtown Athletic Club. The 10 finalists brought in more than 120 votes, and Pellita's picture got 37 percent of that total. The runner up, Ed Campbell's photo of a track competition, got 24 …
