Snow showers courtesy of winter storm Khan have hit the Bensalem area, and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued, according to the National Weather Service. A Winter Weather Advisory will remain in effect until 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, according to the weather service. An expected 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected to accumulate. Be careful during your evening commute, the weather service warns, as slick travel conditions will develop quickly. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities," the Weather Advisory states. "Use extra caution while driving. Drive at a slower speed and use extra caution." A wind advisory is in effect for winter weather that could cause more power outages. Bucks and Montgomery are already under a winter weather advisory with expected snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. The advisory is in effect until Thursday 6 a.m. Tonight, snow and sleet is expected before 10 p.m., then rain and sleet. It will be breezy, with a north wind 18 to 22 mph. The NWS also issued a wind advisory., meaning there is a potential of gusts up to 50 mph. that could cause powe outages. November has barely begun and Bucks and Montgomery are already under a winter weather advisory. The advisory, which was issued Tuesday afternoon by the National Weather Service covers the Greater Philadelphia area. On Wednesday, there's a chance of rain and snow, mainly after 1 p.m. On Thursday, it will be blustery, with a north wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph and a possible accumulation of 1-to-2 inches of snow. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads while driving.
