A written bomb threat was received at Bristol High School this morning, according to a message on the school's website.
A student is in custody after writing a bomb threat directed at Bristol High School, a message on the school's website said. The school received a written bomb threat on Tuesday morning. Officials were able to "quickly determine the author of the threat and are taking all precautions necessary to ensure that our students are safe," the message said. Police are involved, according to the school's announcement, and the student has been taken into custody. Calls to the Bristol Borough Police Department and to Bristol Borough School District officials have not been returned at this time. As more information becomes available, Patch will update this story.

A man was struck and killed early Friday morning along Route 13.
A man was struck and killed by pick-up truck early Friday morning outside the Golden Eagle Diner on Route 13 in Bristol Borough. According to police Sgt. Pete Faight, the victim was walking in a lane of travel at the Bath Road turn off on Route 13 when a pick-up truck driven by a New Jersey man going to work struck and killed the victim just before 2:30 a.m. NBC 10 identified the man as Enrigue Garcia, 44. The death remains under investigation, but the driver of the truck is fully cooperating with the investigation, Faight said. He added that the driver said he did not see Garcia until it was too late. A Bristol Township resident died from injuries sustained when she was hit by a car. Bristol Borough police are investigating the accident.
A Bristol Township woman has passed away from injuries sustained when she was struck by a car in Bristol Borough. Christina “Tina” Szymanek, 60, of Bath Road, was walking along the southbound shoulder of Route 13 when she was struck by a car driven by a Croydon resident at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, according to borough police. The victim was taken by ambulance to Aria Health's Torresdale hospital. She died several hours later, police reported on Tuesday. The driver is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation and the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the incident. Authorities have not released further details on the crash. Daniel Gallagher was taken into custody by Bristol Borough police hours after phoning threats to a Philadelphia lawyer. The two public schools in the borough were locked down as officers searched for Gallagher.
A Bristol Borough man is facing several charges after he is alleged to have harassed a Philadelphia defense attorney and made threats against a school. Daniel Gallagher, 50, of the 200 block of Mill Street was taken into custody by officers who flocked to the borough to search for him. He was thought to be armed, but police discovered no weapons on him. The 50-year-old is facing charges out of Philadelphia because he called a city defense attorney that represented him during an arson case in the 1980s and made the threats, borough police chief Arnold Porter said.
